Objective: To observed the relationship between impedance cardiography (ICG), cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) and other parameters in chronic heart failure (CHF) hospitalized patients.
Design: Retrospective, case-control study Setting : cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) machine in Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital Participants : 9 patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) admitted to hospital due to exacerbation and was recovered before discharged
Interventions: We performed static tests on resting CO, CO at anaerobic threshold (AT), cardiac index (CI) at AT, peak CO and peak CI compared with peak oxygen consumption results.
Main Outcome Measures: resting CO, CO at anaerobic threshold (AT), cardiac index (CI) at AT, peak CO and peak CI
Results: resting CO, CO at anaerobic threshold (AT), cardiac index (CI) at AT, peak CO and peak CI had positively related to peak oxygen consumption. Conclusions: Resting CO, CO at anaerobic threshold (AT), cardiac index (CI) at AT, peak CO and peak CI of hospitalized chronic heart failure patients had positively related to peak oxygen consumption. We will further collect more patients and include outcomes such as 3-month readmission rate in this study.
Level of Evidence: Level III
